Your session

How the evening unfolds.

A private two-hour window. The stove is already warm when you arrive. No schedule inside — only heat, water, and the time you give it.

The rhythm

From the gate to the last löyly

  1. 01

    Arrive on the track

Park at the marked pull-in. Follow the short forest path to the cabin — about four minutes on foot. We leave a small lantern at the porch after dusk.

  2. 02

    Settle in

Changing space, hooks, drinking water, and towels are ready. The stove has been burning; you only need to add a log when the heat softens.

  3. 03

    Heat, then water

Throw water on the stones when you are ready. When the heat is enough, walk the dock into the lake — or sit on the steps and let the air cool you. Return. Repeat.

  4. 04

    Leave it quiet

When your window ends, bank the fire low, leave towels in the basket, and walk back along the track. No checkout desk. Just the trees and the road home.

We provide

Already waiting for you

  • Private wood-fired sauna, pre-heated
  • Birch firewood and kindling by the stove
  • Fresh towels and drinking water
  • Wooden bucket, ladle, and thermometer
  • Seasonal vihta (birch whisk), when the leaves are right
  • Lake access via the short dock
  • Outdoor bench and a simple outdoor shower (cold)

Please bring

A short list

  • Swimwear if you prefer it (optional — many guests go without)
  • A warm layer for the walk back to the car in winter
  • Water bottle if you like something of your own
  • Slip-on shoes for the path and dock
  • Quiet company — this is a private hire, not a party venue

Leave behind

What does not belong

  • Glass on the dock or in the sauna
  • Strong scents, oils, or outside löyly essences
  • Music speakers — the bay carries sound far
  • Pets inside the hot room
  • Expectations of staff on site — you have the place to yourselves

The lake

Cold, dark, and voluntary

The plunge is part of the ritual for many — and optional for all. The water is deep off the dock end. There is no lifeguard. Swim only if you are confident in cold water; never alone if you are unsure; never after heavy drink.

In winter the shore is cleared to a safe entry when ice allows. We note conditions in your confirmation.

A few practical notes

Groups

Up to 8 people. The benches hold six in comfort; eight is close and warm.

Age

Children welcome with adults who know sauna well. Keep sessions shorter for them.

Health

If heat or cold is a concern for you, ask your doctor first. Listen to your body in the löyly.

Language

We write in English and Finnish. The place itself needs no translation.
